Truth is always authoritative and gracious. Authoritative words should never be harsh, and gracious words should never be without power. 

What two qualities characterized Jesus in John 1:14,17?

John 1:14 (New International Version)

 ¹⁴ The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. 

John 1:17 (New International Version)

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
