Question #1 Nov. 16th, 2010

Let's pretend we are walking down the street and spot a wad of fabric near a trash can. As we approach, the stench accosts you! Even so, you pick up the nasty fabric and discover it's a woman's blouse.

Hmm, you think, I wear blouses! I wouldn't have chosen this one, but here it is....So you hang it by your favorite pair of jeans and think, I don't like this, but it's here, so I guess I'll keep it.

Now the whole closet reeks and your clean, lovely clothes get dirty as you shove it in place. It has no value; but now it's yours.

Unlike clothes we don't wear, everything from our thought closets gets worn. Uck! We put on untrue, fateful, hurtful labels. When we allow them in, we take dirty, ill-fitting words and store them in the sanctity of our minds! We must continue to crush those wrong thoughts, capture those lying words, and make each word and label concur with truth because we are to have a particular mind. (Philippians 2:5 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. KJV)

Your thought closet is designed to host the mind of Christ. That's why you can't let it become cluttered with wrong words and ill-fitting labels.

Look at the word mind in the following activity, and post words that describe the mind of Christ. I've put in some Scripture hints if you need them.
