Question #7

Why do you think Peter said to be alert to a hard-to-ignore roar? Even if you're a little hard of hearing, busy, or mentally distracted, wouldn't you still notice when a lion roared?
Wouldn't his threatening snarl cut through your distraction and alert you to danger? Contemplate that.

Why do you think Peter warned us to be alert to something that should be obvious?

  1. I don't know, but I can take a guess. I think maybe that it is because of the noise of this world bombarding us with satan's propaganda. So he doesn't worry about us hearing his roar as a warning, he roars away knowing that it will be undetected in the business of this world.

  2. A lion has to be sneaky to stalk his prey. He can also "throw" his voice so when he roars, it can sound like it is coming from another direction. Satan is like that in the fact that he isn't going to stand in front of me waving his arms and throwing temptation right at my feet. He's subtle, sneaky, and can disguise his "voice".
