Question #2

The Holy Spirit is a mentor who teaches us to know truth God, and His ways. That means if you are relying on faulty assumptions, He will reveal the roots to you. He exposes wrong thinking and enlightens us to the truth.

Before I owned an audio Bible, I was able to recall much of its truth. Of course, I read it as a child and listened to countless sermons. but I marvel how I was and am able to know and remember so much Scripture, especially as my eyesight began to fail and Scripture intake was severely limited several years. I am convinced God's Spirit was my teacher.

My friend, do not tell yourself you're not smart enough, young enough, or studious enough to know and remember God's truth. Stay in the Word, and the Holy Spirit will teach you and remind you of truth. I am so grateful for this role He plays in our lives. Learning from Him is the only way to deal with the issues that threaten to crowd our thought closest. We need a Teacher who stamps out the ignorance that pervades our thoughts and assumptions. We need a mentor who can offer wisdom that reaches beyond our own.

How have you benefited from the Holy Spirit's teaching?

  1. I love it when I read a scripture and it is exactly what I need for that day. It can be a scripture that I have read before, but the Holy Spirit ministers to me in a new way

  2. There have been numerous times that I was in a crisis situation (mine or someone else's) and needed comfort from the Word. The Holy Spirit would bring to mind multiple verses that were just what I needed to hear. I love that!
