Sometimes we can grow dull when we hear the same things over and over. Just as a sleepy teenager can tune out the blaring alarm clock in the morning, you can condition yourself to tune out the lion's roar. But to tune out his lies is to risk continually falling for them. That's why you and I still struggle from time to time with destructive self-talk.
We have heard Satan's voice for so long that we often just assume it is our voice. Stop and ask God's Spirit to counsel you with truth about this. Do you recognize the voice of the Enemy? Are you tuned in? Do you just assume the voices you hear in your head originate with you and you exclusively?
Journal your thoughts about recognizing the Enemy's voice and what God shows you about it, and Friday we will learn just how tricky our Enemy really is.
When I live my life according to Matthew 6:33 and I seek FIRST His kingdom and His righteousness for me, I live a more balanced life. When I don't DAILY seek Him, that is when I get off balance and off track with the paths that I should take. When I am following and seeking Him first I can walk in confidence that I am taking the right path He has provided for me, and the thoughts that I say to my soul (my mind, my will, and my emotions) will be on track too! It is a discipline that I must NEVER give up....spending time in His HOLY WORD.
